Fermata. Conversations with Composers
Music critic, journalist, and curator Aleksey Munipov compiled 20 extensive interviews with very different composers into one book. Fermata was first published in 2019. In the 2024 reissue, these conversations acquire new, sometimes radically different meanings. After all, the study of music involves looking into the invisible — the essence of the human and the humane, harmony and chaos, the end of times and infinity. Aleksey Munipov has been writing about music since 1996. He is the founder of the "School of Attentive Listening" and the music society "Fermata." Program director of the DK Rassvet (Moscow). Author of an experimental music textbook for secondary schools ("Yandex Textbook"), courses and workshops about music and listening (HSE, Inliberty, V-A-C, Hats (Tromsø)). Curator of music festivals, concerts, theatrical performances in Moscow, London, Tel Aviv. Former chief editor of the magazine "Bolshoy Gorod," the project "Afisha-Vozdukh," editorial director at Arzamas.
