Burroughs Who Exploded

William Seward Burroughs is one of the most influential American prose writers of the 20th century. It is hard to imagine David Cronenberg's films, Gilles Deleuze's philosophical works, or David Bowie's songs without his books. He was an ally of the Beatniks and a patron of the punks, a pioneer of queer culture and a rock 'n' roll icon, a gun enthusiast and a desperate drug addict, a preacher of freedom and a fugitive killer. It is difficult to find corners of modern culture untouched by his influence: postmodernism, cyberpunk, transhumanism, psychedelic rock, industrial – the list can go on endlessly. "Burroughs Who Exploded" is the first Russian-language biography of the counterculture initiator, written by Dmitry Haustov, author of books about Charles Bukowski, George Orwell, and the Beat Generation.
