"The Burgess Boys" is a book by Pulitzer Prize winner and bestselling queen Elizabeth Strout. The writer gained fame with the novel "Olive Kitteridge." In "The Burgess Boys," as in this cult book, the author tells the complex story of a large family. At the center of the plot are the Burgess brothers, who left their hometown after the tragic death of their father. The tragedy made Jim and Bob strangers to each other, each leading their own life long ago. Bob, who took the blame for their father's death, works in a free legal aid office and gradually succumbs to alcoholism. Jim, meanwhile, has achieved success in everything: he is a loving and beloved husband, a happy father, and a sought-after lawyer respected and valued by others. The brothers could never have imagined that years later they would have to return to Shirley Falls. But their nephew needs support and help, so they return to where they once fled hastily. And when this happens, the demons that have haunted each of them all these years break free.
