1995, Hawaii. While sailing with his parents on a yacht, seven-year-old Noah Flores falls overboard. When the water surface froths with shark fins, everyone freezes in horror — the boy seems doomed. But a miracle happens — one of the sharks, carefully holding Noah in its mouth, brings him back to the side of the boat. This story becomes a family legend. Noah's family, who suffered like many island residents from the collapse of the sugar cane industry, saw the strange incident as a sign of goodwill from the Hawaiian gods. Later, when the boy exhibited special abilities, his relatives became fully convinced of this. However, over time, this divine favor becomes the cause of the family's disintegration. Noah works as a paramedic in Portland. His older brother Dean studies at an elite college, admitted due to his basketball achievements. Younger sister Kaui enters a mainland university to find her own path, unrelated to family legends. But one tragic event brings the Flores family back to their home island...
