ILLEGAL CONSUMPTION OF NARCOTICS, PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES, AND THEIR ANALOGUES DAMAGES HEALTH, THEIR ILLEGAL TRAFFICKING IS PROHIBITED AND ENTAILS LIABILITY ESTABLISHED BY LAW. "The Invincible Sun" by Viktor Pelevin is another slice of modernity. Sasha is a sophisticated Moscow blonde. She’s in her thirties, there’s no virus on the horizon yet, and she sets off on a journey promised to her on the Indian mountain Arunachala by Shiva himself. Sasha will meet historian-necro-empates, Roman princes, American corporate anarchists, Turkish philologist-Sufis, Russian sixteenths referents, Cuban silencers and sex workers — and other interesting people (and more). But most importantly, she will touch the mystery of mysteries — and see where and how what Elon Musk calls a computer simulation, and the Holy Church calls the World of God, arises. What Sasha became after meeting the mystery you will learn from the book. What the mystery became after meeting Sasha you already somewhat know. This novel is truly Pelevin’s prose: brilliant sarcasm and brilliant style, a swift plot reminiscent of a quest in a mirrored room, and an impressive finale.
