In 1985, Yale Tischman, development director of an art gallery in Chicago, is hunting for an extraordinary collection of Parisian paintings from the 1920s. He is deeply absorbed in thoughts about art while the city is hit by the AIDS epidemic. Fiona, the sister of his late friend Nico, helps him keep his spirits up. Thirty years later, Fiona searches for her daughter, who has joined a cult in Paris. Only now does she finally realize how the events of the 1980s affected her life and her relationship with her daughter. These intertwining stories show how to find goodness and hope amidst disaster.
