JAN EKHOLM is a well-known Swedish writer, author of wonderful works for children. His fairy-tale story "Tutta Karlsson, the First and Only, Ludwig the Fourteenth and Others" about the friendship between a chick and a fox has become one of the most popular and beloved children's books worldwide. Jan Ekholm also wrote cheerful stories about the adventures of Miss Steel, which are published in Russian for the first time. Crendel Peterson, a robber from the provincial Swedish town of Wherever, is celebrating his birthday. And guess what he received as a gift? A locomotive with two carriages! Not toy ones, but the real deal. The town's residents are puzzled: what to do with such a present?.. And then Miss Steel, who loves fun adventures and mischievous pranks, came to everyone's rescue. She suggested organizing a race between the locomotive and... a bus. Well then, ready, set! The big race begins!
