Ship from Germany, hardcover. The book "Neuchebnik of Russian Language. Orthography" is the second part of a course that is completely unlike usual school textbooks. The "Neuchebnik" is dedicated to the study of writing prefixes, suffixes, and endings, but it reads like an engaging book—from the first chapter to the last! This is because the collection is very fun and understandable, and most importantly, useful. The author of the book is linguist Maxim Krongauss, head of the Russian language department at RSUH, who came up with the idea of an unconventional conversation on school topics. Each chapter of the "Neuchebnik" focuses on one orthographic problem, opening with a delightfully funny text by Artur Givargizov that starts the discussion of a particular rule. Children learn why rules and exceptions arise, how to write correctly—and all this without rote memorization, easily and joyfully. Needless to say, the "Neuchebnik" will be interesting for adults to read as well—to refresh school knowledge and have a laugh. Despite its simplicity and humor, the "Neuchebnik" is a full collection of rules and exercises, mastering which students can confidently write without orthographic errors. At the end of the book, you will find an orthographic dictionary and answer keys. Also take a look at the first part of the book—"Neuchebnik of Russian Language. Orthography. Part 1," which contains chapters on orthography related to root spelling: unpronounceable consonants, unverifiable and alternating vowels, and much more. The first Russian language textbook that reads like an engaging book.
